Scenehouse Make will introduce students to a range of prop making materials and techniques that are standard throughout the theatre industry. Expert tutors who are themselves professional props makers will provide guest lectures and demonstrations, whilst core Scenehouse staff will support students through their own personal projects. Note that this course, which previously lasted a week has been extended to 9 full days.
NB - The course will run every day between 19th - 25th (including Saturday and Sunday) The course will include: -Moulding and casting, techniques and materials -Life casting -Sculpting tools and materials -Foam Construction (plastazote and other soft foam work) -Polystyrene carving -working with found objects and adapted components -Simple mechanisms -Prop level carpentry -adhesives, foams, rubbers, paints and other useful materials -A guide to the props-makers tool box -Scenic carpentry COSHH You can see a short video of some images from previous MAKE courses here The course can be studied as part of the full Scenehouse Programme To see examples of work from previous courses visit our gallery links page here.
