TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
Are you a self-motivating, practical, problem solver? Do you think collaboratively and communicate well? Are you good at sharing your enthusiasm with others? Do you have a strong visual sense and the drive to complete your work to a high standard? If so we have a place for you.
We have found that in a working studio environment these soft skills are at least as important as an applicant’s portfolio or previous experience.
As a staff team we’ve mentored students who’ve reached us from many diverse routes. Some students have come from a first degree in the arts, or from a general education in the “Liberal Arts” tradition of the United States.
Some are solo theatre makers, creating original low / no budget productions, who wish to expand their skills so they can create better props and environments for their performances.
Others have been making theatre with university or amateur companies. Many are already active at some level in the industry, in another discipline, and wish to broaden their range. And there are also visual artists coming to us particularly for technical skills.
Our courses are aimed at mature students, and applicants must be aged 20 or over.
Whatever your background and your route to Scenehouse we’d like to hear from you.
So that we can best tailor the programme to the diverse needs of applicants we ask them to write a short statement about their experience to date, their aims and the objectives they’d like to achieve. We do this through the general application and contact form we will send you when you contact us.
We’re also happy to just talk to you generally about the the programme
